The bird nest pendants are just so sweet! I made then for Mother's Day gifts a couple of years ago. I used the number of children of the recipient to determine the number of beads I used.

Wishing you and yours a lovely Easter! Yes, the girls could do these, they were pretty easy. I would recommend jewelry wire though as you can get the fine gauge. I did use 24 gauge , but may try 26 as it would be just that bit finer. Love to see them if you do them...let me know:-)

They are simply lovely gifts Suzanne and perfect for Easter. I think my girls would love to make the pendants. We have tonnes of beads, have the pliers, just need to search out some wire... sure we have some in a toolbox somewhere! I do like the silver you used rather than the copper.
Have a most blessed Easter and thank you for inspiring me to try something a bit different this Easter. I'm sure your family will appreciate all those special things you have planned.

Love you post. I have admired a number of women for their coupon using skills but have noticed that have a lot of things in the cart that are not very healthy. The shampoo, soaps, house hold cleaners are great to get a such discounts but I prefer the fresh vegetables and quality meats which hardly have coupons but can be gotten at great sales. I also buy a lot on store labels instead of name brand or get bulk at Sprouts and Cost co. There are ways of saving that don't include coupons but it is fun to see all the hard work it must take to get that type of coupon-ing skill pay off for those who like to do it.

I just stumbled on to your blog and have only read this post. It so refreshing to read something that while you do not bash the lives of the celebrities you speak of here, you have rightfully addressed the reality and truth of their lives and the misappropriated status and priority they receive. You are right, people at large have have a huge case of priority disease. It is sad the way their lives ended, but it was choices they made that did them in. How right you are that caring for innocent, helpless and needy children should grab the attention, affection and compassion of people, moving them to action to help rather than their emotional wailing over the loss of people that chose to destroy themselves. I do not mean to be harsh here, and certainly my heart goes out to the family and close friends these deaths touched. This is off the path here but in the same wood, why do we pay entertainers and sports figures what they get paid and have to cut school curriculum's and allow some crime because there are not enough funds for teachers and policemen? Just a little offshoot thought. Thank you for such a good blog post! I will put your blog on my sidebar so I can follow you and others can see you.

We have planted onions, radishes and lettuce today. They should still do well if it gets cold again. My son during breaks with his schoolwork is working on the lawnmower as it looks like we will be mowing this weekend. My youngest is planting more radishes in our big garden. My daughter made beef jerky and today is helping her older brother with fixing the lawn mower.

Happy Birthday to your daughter. The rabbit should be a fun pet for her to carry everywhere.

I am so happy to see more and more people saying these things. When our hearts have been changed by the incomprehensible love of Jesus that ought to spill out in countless ways, especially in ways like the one spelled out so clearly in the scripture you mentioned above from James. We should be ever growing in gratitude toward the God who saved us and gave everything for us, and we should be extending that redemptive love in a multitude of ways. These simple truths that have led our family into the beginning steps of adoption, but that is not the only way to be involved in orphan care and posts like yours remind us that we should care and should be doing something tangible to show it.

I use the same word "tidy." "We need to tidy up the place," I would often say to my girls. It does seems more gentler. Our pastor frequently uses the tidy phrase "in thought, word and deed," when referring to our priorities in honoring Christ with our lives. I needed the reminder this week on all three fronts when difficulties arose. Your post dovetailed with my thoughts. Thank-you.

Your tidy room is an attractive accomplishment. I noticed your Georgian blue trim months back. It closely matches our blue doors and staircase. I was interested in "soldier blue" by Old Village paint colors which is a beautiful deep blue but Dean recommended a medium shade. I'm glad I heeded.
