That would be Kristen (aka Dr. Dolly) under the advent wreath!
All us gals were pretty happy to see each other:-)

That is Melinda under the contraption--all of us over 40, need help with the eyes!

Melinda and Wilhelmina hard at work painting Annabelle's face.

One tired corgi sleeping under the table.

It's Dr. Dolly!

We worked all day in the kitchen dining area on the big pine farm table.

St. Nicholas Tea a day early with our spicy tea from Linda and LaVonne and Dundee Cake.

The first gathering of the Take Peace Annabelle Doll Club was great! We got to work in the morning shortly after everyone arrived. We had some warm mulled cider and cookies and muffins that Melinda brought. Kristen really is a great painter--you should just see her dolls! She is also an excellent instructor and we were all so thrilled to get poor Annabelle out of the box , sanded, gesso'd and painted. It took all day to do that delicate face and I think we will all fiddle around with the face a bit more but all in all we couldn't believe that doll finally took on a personality. We stopped for lunch and I had served Tasha's receipts of Corgi Cottage soup, oatmeal bread and macaroni and cheese. Then later we had our own St. Nicholas Tea with Tasha's gingerbread baked by Wilhelmina and cut in cute little heart shapes, more cookies and the traditional Tudor Dundee Cake. Linda and LaVonne were with us in spirit as we drank the tea they sent us and LaVonne was on the phone alot as the baked goods they shipped never made it. The UPS man dropped off the box at the top of my very long windy driveway toward the side where the road is. My husband spotted the box on his way to work and took it with him! UPS said they dropped it off at the door and let me tell you---I think LaVonne may have gotten a UPS driver reprimanded:-) So, my hubby came home that night with the big box of goodies (unbeknowst to him) in his hand and I promptly made him call LaVonne and explain! I will say our family enjoyed the delicious blueberry bread and gingerbread cookies:-) Sorry Kristen , Melinda and Wilhelmina--none left! But thanks Linda and LaVonne for your thoughtfulness because we certainly missed you at our gathering. I need to take a couple pics of my finished dolly head to show but I think I want her to have hair first--she is awful bald at the moment! Thank God for good friends and who ever knew you could
meet such wonderful people over the internet on a Tasha Tudor yahoo group!

Oh, Suzanne, it looks lovely! You must really have had a wonderful day. And thank you for the glimpses of your home, it works as a beautiful backdrop to your gathering. I really wish I lived closer to you!
How incredibly wonderful!!! Good, interesting, fun, creative friends are so RARE these days. I don't have a single friend who is creative and I'm always having to do things alone.
Also, I find myself watching the Take Joy and Take Peace videos from the library over and over... such a peaceful life Tasha has. We're moving in about six months and are hoping to move to the country and get a Corgi~! Trying to simplify our lives, and take joy... literally. Oh, I also just acquired the Tasha Tudor Cookbook! How interesting and delicious all the recipes look! Nothing "strange" and all wholesome, comfort foods.
I just love visiting your blog!

That looked like it was so much fun! I didn't know there was a Tasha Tudor yahoo group? I suppose there's a group for everything now LOL! I love Tasha Tudor - I'll have to look into that after Christmas.

It sounds like you had a good time ;o)
Just found your blog and had to comment as Tasha Tudor has been an inspiration to my family for years. My father, as a boy, built a dollhouse just like the one in Doll's Christmas and furnished it with antiques. It took up an entire room in the house! His dolls corresponded with Tasha's. I grew up in Sturbridge where my mom (and I) worked at OSV, so smiled when I saw that post of yours.
